Syamsul Hasran
Syamsul is a computer science alumnus from University of Southern California. He completed his A-Levels at Sunway University College. In April 2003, he co-founded The Worldwide Malaysian Students Network (http://www.recom.org) which provided a platform for fellow Malaysian students and young professionals worldwide to network and work together towards building a united Malaysia. He is currently working as a Software Engineer at Altera Corporation. Before that, he worked as a researcher at Karim Raslan Associates.
Christi Toa
Christi Toa
Christi is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science and Computer Science at University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). He transferred from INTI College Subang Jaya last August. At present, he is working on a series of data analysis for the College of Business Administration at UNL. Back at INTI, he was actively involved in serving in the major projects of INTIMA, the student government of INTI College and was also the President of the American University Program Society. His interests include photography, drama and multimedia production.

Wun Min has been admitted to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and will be leaving to further her studies there this coming fall. During her free time, the Bintulu lass staffs for TinKosong.com, an online portal founded by Joyce Tagal and Ng Eng Han to compile information on academic and non-academic opportunities relevant to our Malaysian youths. She also maintains a website called “Application UK” which disseminates information on the British university application process with special mention of Oxbridge.

Chen Chow obtained his B.Sc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University in 2005 with triple minors in Industrial System & IT, Information Science and Engineering Management. He spent a year in INTEC, UiTM in ATU5 from 2000 to 2001, to do his American Degree Foundation Program (ADTP). He has been admitted to Stanford University for Master's in Management Science & Eng. He is currently working at Accenture as a Business Analyst. Over the past 4 years, he has jointly developed The Worldwide Malaysian Students Network (http://www.recom.org), a site with more than 8.8 million web hits. He is currently the Secretary of American Universities Alumni Malaysia (AUAM), Asst. Secretary and Activities Coordinator of Malaysian Mensa Society and Executive Committee of Cornell Club of Malaysia.

Hui Lin is an alumna from Carnegie Mellon University. She obtained her B.Sc in Computer Science. a double degree in Business Administration (Finance) and a Master of Information Systems Management from CMU. In college, she was actively involved in process consulting and has helped non profit organizations such as Hunger Services Network of the state of Pennsylvania

Teck Eng is in his fifth semester in Taylor's University College American Degree Program, pursuing a major in industrial engineering. He's currently preparing to transfer to Purdue University, West Lafayette on August 2007. He enjoys organizing events and hopes that the upcoming Discover U.S. Education-KL '07 event would be able to achieve its optimum level of success.

Chi Hoong is a sophomore at Indiana University-Bloomington (IUB). He plans to major in Management and Finance at Kelley Business School. He just transferred from Sunway University College in Spring 2007. Currently, he is a member of the Malaysian Student Association at IUB. He joined Experiences 2006 Kuala Lumpur last year. He hopes to make Discover U.S. Education - KL '07 a must-go event for perspective students bound for the U.S., current U.S. university students, and U.S. university alumni.

How, Peng Zhir
Peng Zhir is currently an undergraduate sophomore at the University of Wisconsin - Madison who plans to major in Actuarial Science. He transferred to the United States in January 2007 from Taylor's College American Degree Program (Taylor's ADP) in Malaysia. He was and still is part of the logistics team for the Discover U.S. Education - KL '07 committee. In addition, he was the President for the Business Entrepreneurship Society and a committee member in the Student Council of Taylor's ADP. He enjoys traveling and experiencing the different cultures of the world.

Nadiah is undergoing her second semester in the American Degree Foundation Program (ADFP) at INTEC, UiTM. She hopes to pursue the field of Actuarial Science. She is currently the President of The Cultural, Arts and Theatre Society (CATS), the Vice President of The American Top University Students' Association (ATUSA) and a member of the Toastmasters Club. Apart from that, Nadiah is also active in Community Service for the sole benefits of others. Her interest is a fusion of performing arts (tap dancing in particular), languages, ancient civilization history and swimming. She strongly believes that passion is a fundamental element of success.

Nurjannah Iman Syaqirene Ahmat

Nurjannah is currently enrolled in the American Degree Foundation Program at International Education Centre (INTEC), Shah Alam. She thrives at being involved in organizing committees, and was passionately involved in her boarding school, Kolej Yayasan Saad's student, house and club committees. In INTEC, she continues her enthusiasm by serving as the Promotion and Public Relations Bureau leader of the American Top University Student Association. In the past, Nurjannah has dived into myriad endeavors like traveling on musical tours as a violinist in her school orchestra, acting, and running in cross-country competitions. She takes pride in her writing, and finds books priceless. Nonetheles, Nurjannah profoundly believes her small stature holds no substitute for her big dreams and ambitions!

Zi Yi is currently in his second semester in the American Credit Transfer Program in INTEC, UiTM. Under the sponsorship of the Public Service Department, he will be majoring in Actuarial Science in the United States. He finds interest in astronomy, photography and music. He hopes to do his best to make Discover U.S. Education - KL '07 a great success.

Eng Han Ng is a freshman at Dartmouth College where he is currently enjoying the multitude of winter sports available despite the below -20 Celsius weather. He attended the prestigious United World College-USA in New Mexico where he spent "the best two years of his life" making friends from all around the world and learning to be passionate. He fell in love with the Southwest US where he spent a lot of time in the outdoors bonding with friends and getting trained in wilderness leadership, first aid and search and rescue. Co-founder of Tinkosong.com, a website dedicated to disseminating information to the teens of Malaysia about study abroad opportunities, scholarships and exchange programs, he hopes more to encourage more Malaysian students to take advantage of the generous financial aid offered by many US colleges.

Joyce is a freshman at Yale University. She hails from Kuching, Sarawak and is interested in helping to motivate young Malaysians to be proactive about their future and career. She is part of Tinkosong.com which is a website dedicated to disseminating information to the teens of Malaysia about study abroad opportunities, scholarships and exchange programs.

Su Yuen is currently a "freshie" at the National University of Singapore (NUS) under the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship and University Scholars Program. In school, she was the national 3rd prize winner of the Sony Science Education Awards 2003 and the national 2nd prize winner in the Telekom Smart School Website Competition 2002. During the long break before starting her studies at NUS, she did a 5-month internship as a graphic and webpage designer where she worked on projects for Pioneer, Motorola, HSBC, Nestle and etc. Her latest stint includes being the Creative Director of NEXUS 2007, an international business and technology conference being held in Singapore. Apart from her dream of developing revolutionary videogames of the future, she hopes to reduce the level of poverty in the world by using education as one of the key elements!

Currently a student in International Education Centre (INTEC), Jay Sern is an all-rounder student. He is a Bank Negara of Malaysia scholar and will be majoring in Economics. Besides excelling in academics, he was once a Johor state badminton player. In addition, in year 2001, he was selected as the National Overall Best Male Badminton Player by the National Sports Council. Currently doing the American Degree Foundation program, he also hopes to get into Stanford University or University of Chicago. He also manages his time very well as he actively involves in community services through the Rotary Club of Batu Pahat and he is currently the Treasurer of America Top Universities Students Association of INTEC. During his free time, he loves to sing. His passion for singing made him decided to take part in the Malaysian Idol and "Superstar" reality shows in which he managed to get into the 3rd round of selection on both occasions..

Being a national scholar sponsored by the Public Service Department, Sharon is currently in her third semester in the American Degree Transfer Program in INTEC, UiTM. She attained the School Achiever Scholarship Awards (SASA) presented by HELP University College to pursue her A Levels in 2006. She presently majors in Biotechnology and has special interest in Cell & Molecular Biology. Besides excelling in academic achievements, Sharon aces in sports, as she was a District table tennis player since Standard 4, and is an aficionado of swimming and ice-skating. Fueled by her passion in Community Service, she devotes her free time volunteering at animal shelter and turtle sanctuary research center. Sharon is also the Founder and the President of Charity Care Club in her college. She volunteers to be the person-in-charge for 30-hour Famine Camp 2007 in INTEC to fight child hunger and poverty around the globe. Besides having a great interest in Chemistry and Biology, she also has undying passion for arts and design, especially in Graphic Designing. She enjoys organizing events and has learned a lot from the Discover U.S. Education organizing team about event management, besides contributing her creativity to publicize the event. She believes that passion creates the greatest momentum to strive for success, and opportunities only come to those who seek, not to those who wait.

Yee Hoong is currently an undergraduate at Northwestern University. He hails from KL and will be graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He is an International Education Center (INTEC) alumni after completing his American Degree Foundation Program there in 2006. He is involved in student engineering groups and projects promoting alternative energy. He enjoys meeting people and realizing concepts and ideas.

Kah Loong is currently taking Actuarial Science under the American Degree Foundation Program in INTEC, UiTM. He is currently running the IE Club in INTEC. He is actively involved in Buddhist and Leo activities.

Cheng Sze Lem, who prefers to be addressed as Victor, is currently an undergraduate at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. He is majoring in Actuarial Science and he was a student from INTEC (ATU 12). He is excited about the coming Discover U.S. education fair as he will get to share his endless stories of the United States with the prospective students. At INTEC, he was the vice president of the Taekwondo Club. Besides being actively involved in the Buddhist Club as both speaker and advisor, he also enjoys contributing to the society through community work.

Isabel is a student at ADTP (American Degree Transfer Program) at Sunway University College, majoring in Engineering. Currently, she is the President of the ADTP Student Committee. She also served as Treasurer for the same committee in 2006. She was on the Student Council of Sunway University College as a Student Relations Director in 2006. She will be transferring to Western Michigan University in the fall of 2007.

Sian Mei is currently an undergraduate junior at Northwestern University , majoring in Chemical Engineering. She serves as the Treasurer for the Malaysian Student Association (Cilipadi) and also the Publicity Co-Chair for the South East Asian Nite event this year. Sian Mei is also a peer adviser for first year students at Northwestern. She frequently tries to find time to participate in more volunteer activities whenever she is not busy with work or studies. Her other interests include traveling to new places, and meeting new people.

Farah is currently an undergraduate junior majoring in Journalism at Northwestern University. She serves as the Public Relations Chair for the Malaysian Students Association, webmaster for the campus literary magazine, and mentor to first-year Asian/Asian American students. She also writes for several on-campus publications and is a freelance web designer currently working with a non-profit organization designed to help eliminate poverty in Africa. Farah is affiliated with the Star, Malaysia's premier English daily as an active member of their young journalist program, BRATs, since 2001. She is the founding president of the American University Program Society in INTI College. In the past, she has also been competitively involved in dancing, singing, debating, acting and public speaking. She looks forward to building a career out of her passion for words.

Sutha is in her second semester of the American Credit Transfer Program (ACTP) at INTEC, UiTM. Currently, she is the Vice Treasurer of the American Top University Association (ATUSA) and also the Special Force Officer of Toastmasters International. In addition, she is also a voluntary tutor for Form 3 students at an orphanage in Klang. She plans to major in Actuarial Science due to her undying passion for mathematics and statistics and hopes to gain admission into University of Illinois or University of Michigan. She has a diverse range of interests from writing to public speaking, reading and singing. She believes that the world does not end when you fail. She constantly says, "So, pick yourself up and get moving.  Have faith in yourself and watch your dreams come true!"

Being sponsored by the Public Service Department of Malaysia, he hopes to be admitted into University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the following winter to complete his degree in Actuarial Science. He is also currently the webmaster of Toastmaster INTEC and posses a wide range of interests covering American History & Culture, literature, public speaking, Math & Science etc. Being a devote Buddhist, he is concerned about the society's welfare and enjoys pouring tireless contribution to the society.

As a sponsored student of the Public Service Department, she will be majoring in Actuarial Science. She is the founding member of a new club known as "Pacesetter" at INTEC. She hopes that she can establish the club successfully and achieve her goals efficaciously. She is glad to meet all her team members of Discover U.S. Education - KL '07. Dahlia hails from a tiny town on the border of Melaka and Negeri Sembilan and graduated from the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. Though a big fan of late night 'mamak' sessions and roadtrips, she now lives the nomad life of a consultant in the windy city of Chicago. Dahlia joined the (then) Experiences committee of 2006 on impulse as the head of web design. She absolutely enjoyed her time working with the group and thought that she will give it another whirl this year. When she is not writing gibberish in Ruby or Java or traveling, Dahlia enjoys reading about social economics and travel.

She is currently working as a Software Engineer at Altera Corp. in Penang, Malaysia. When she's not busy with work, Ee Ling enjoys watching good movies, reading all kinds of books and spending time with family and friends.

Caroline is currently in her fifth semester in American University Program(AUP) in INTI College Subang Jaya. She plans to transfer to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa this Fall to pursue her degree in Actuarial Science. Currently, she is the Vice Chairperson of Volleyball Club and the Head of Publicity of AUP Society. As a council member of INTIMA, the student government of INTI College, she enjoys helping in the events organized by INTIMA. She believes that commitment and passion are the important keys to success. During her free time, she likes reading, listening to songs and having conversation with friends. Her biggest goal is to live life to the fullest.
